Picking a location for your session is SO important. I have a few tried-and-true favorite locations that I recommend but I’m open to ideas if you want to try something new! Keep in mind that location + light can affect the overall feel of a session, that’s why I usually shoot at sunrise or sunset in locations I’m familiar with so you get the absolute best photos possible 😉

This location is in Russellville and has different field areas making it perfect for a beautiful session. (And the areas aren’t far from the road so less walking!)

This location is in Westphalia and has a field, tree-lined road, wooded area and a creek. The creek is great but floods easily so it isn’t available if it rains a lot before the day of the session.

This location is technically multiple spots in downtown Jefferson City. This is my favorite for seniors and would be great for couples or urban family sessions too :)

This location is in Westphalia (pretty far out, but worth it 😜). It has a gorgeous open area with field-y vibes but is actually mostly rock so it’s easier to walk through.

This location is in Wardsville and has a wooded area + river front. (entire area does flood with excess rain in which case it can’t be used)

This location is in Jefferson City near Binder Park and is convenient and typically quiet. The field usually has tall grass & wildflowers but the grass is sometimes randomly cut short (I REALLY hate when it’s cut…)

This location is in Jefferson City at Binder Park near the lake. This spot has a wooded area and field nearby too for variety!

The locations above are my usual places but they aren’t the only choices! You can do an in-home session, we can go to an arcade, your farm, hot air balloon ride, on a boat, your private jet (just sayin’…I’d be very excited 😜).
Just be sure to consider your wardrobe choices when thinking about location, you probably don’t want to wear skinny jeans & boots if you want a river session :) If you have any questions about wardrobe + location, I’m always available!
