How to rock your outfits & have a bomb ass session >>>

hey there! I’m soooooo excited you’re here! If you’re wondering what the heck you should wear for your session, I’m about to make your day :)

Whether you want to buy new outfits or put together something from your own closet, I have tons of info to help you out. Be sure to pick something within your wheelhouse that you feel confident in but is also comfortable. I’m always available for suggestions & ideas but I already know you’ll look amazing in whatever you end up wearing! PS: I love when clients send me pictures of their outfits so I can get hyped up & start getting ideas for our session!

Head to my Pinterest to find my Client Closet board for inspo!

Matchy-Matchy is a no-no.

Coordinate color groups, but don't put the entire family in khakis and polos. It may seem counterintuitive to have lots of colors going on, but it can look really good, trust me 😜

Do me a solid

Have fun, but don't go too crazy with prints and patterns. Tiny prints will look psychedelic and can actually end up distorted in photos. Classic solid colors will never go out of style and are always complimentary. PS- Neon colors are fun but don't look as good in photos as they do on the garage sale section of the classifieds (ope, I said it)

Do you hate me???

No? Then pretty pretty please wear good shoes. Please don’t wear (or let your family wear) tennis shoes with bright yellow shoelaces, muddy boots or anything else that will take away from your beautiful faces! I don’t hate athletic shoes but they can ruin a vibe when it comes to portraits. It’s always an option to go barefoot too!

Are you a race car?

If so I am wildly impressed, I’ve never met a race car that can read before. I’ve never actually met a race car before period, that would be weird to be introduced to a car (what replaces a handshake?). Moving on. If you’re NOT a race car, let’s leave the big branding to NASCAR and the cereal companies and leave shirts with big/obvious logos at home. I promise your photos will look so much better without a big Under Armour logo or Spongebob t-shirt.

Always a good idea:

layers & accessories - belts, scarves, jewelry, jackets, hats (but not your beloved well worn baseball hat, sorry! It can be in some photos, but let’s leave it out for the majority. I’m good with beanies though 😉)

texture - lace, knit, tweed, wool, leather etc. Mixing textures & patterns can seriously elevate the look of a session!

well fitted clothes - making sure clothes fit well is SO important. If it’s too loose or too tight, not only will you not be comfortable, but you’ll likely notice it in the photos. This goes for kids too, but for the littles it’s almost better if clothes are a little tighter as opposed to being loose.
